Join the Good Food Collective for a FUN and COVID-safe evening of backyard fruit harvesting! Whether your aim is to save bears, feed community, reduce food waste, or simply spend time with family and friends, make sure to RSVP on the GFC website as soon as possible as spots are limited!! Join this week, or any following Wednesday evening through October!
We will pluck feral fruit to our heart’s delight while sipping on mocktails made from the fruit du jour and getting to know our fellow harvesters. Harvesters are welcome to take home as much fruit as you like and the remainder will be donated to food banks and pantries across La Plata and Montezuma County. Social distancing and relevant COVID protocols are in place throughout the entirety of our harvest.
Do not worry if the timing of this recurring event does not fit into your busy schedule! Feel free to check out the Good Food Collective’s DIY gleaning resources or harvest kit rental program on our website. Donations are appreciated!!
When: Wednesdays 5-7 PM
Where: Harvest site changes each week! RSVPs receive details about that week’s location.
What to Bring: Water bottle, sun protection, face mask, closed toed shoes, and boxes/bags for any fruit you hope to take home.
