The Sharehouse Local Produce Program

via The Sharehouse

The Sharehouse has some funds to purchase locally grown produce at wholesale cost! Our COVID-19 food relief grant and donations are enabling us to support local farms whose normal market channels have been disrupted. Every week, through an online order form, food pantries, soup kitchens, and other food assistance groups can request produce for their clients at no cost to them. The Sharehouse aggregates produce from many growers, packages it for individual households, and distributes it through these organizations.

We are seeing increased need in our community, as the economic repercussions continue without much help from the federal government. Thanks for keeping us in mind as we work to reduce food insecurity, and hopefully help your farm as well!

Here’s the items that are most in demand:

  • Carrots
  • Onions
  • Potatoes
  • Zucchini squash
  • Melons
  • Anaheim, jalapeno, and bell peppers
  • Lettuce
  • Mini cabbage heads
  • Broccoli
