Meet our newest Panther, Brandy Haselroth. She is our AVID / Native American Student Mentor in Room 2202. Brandy graduated from M-CHS in the Class of 2000. She served one tour with the United States Air Force. Brandy was based in Mountain Home AFB, Idaho, where she aided in the maintenance and scheduling for F-15 and F-16 fighter jets in her Wing, 366th Operations Support Squadron. From there, she worked in Health Care in Southern California, primarily with Veterans diagnosed with PTSD and Dementia. After 16 years away from Cortez, she moved back to be closer to family. Ms. Hasleroth worked as the Business Manager for a local company, then spent some time working in the Finance Department for The Piñon Project. In July 2017, she started volunteering as an Assistant Basketball Coach with the Montezuma Storm, Cortez’s Girl’s Travel Ball Team. In October of 2018, Brandy was hired as the JV Girls Basketball Coach for M-CHS and still enjoys working with the youth she invested in 3 years ago. Ms. Haselroth said “My passion for our youth first developed through basketball. During that time I have had the privilege of being able to coach and mentor several other students. I look forward to a great, historic school year with our Panthers!”
