19th Amendment Centennial Celebration

The League of Women Voters
of Montezuma County
Invites Women and Men to

CELEBRATE THE 100TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE 19TH AMENDMENT

Saturday, August 22 at 10:45 am
Gather at parking lot by outdoor pool in Cortez.
From there we will drive south on Mildred and turn right on
Main Street, go right on Elm to Montezuma and drive back to
Mildred. For those who want to join us, we will drive through
Dolores and then Mancos.

This is a nonpartisan celebration for women and men of all political parties.
Please, no campaign or candidate signs. Suffragists often wore white in
parades, so we encourage the wearing of white shirts. Suffragists used purple
and white sashes to represent the goal of obtaining the vote. Some groups also
added gold or green to those colors. Decorating vehicles with those colors is
encouraged as are signs that celebrate women voting and encourage voting.
